Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: The Algarve nudges right up against Spain’s western border so it’d be a shame not to pay a visit to the neighbouring country of Portugal during your holiday. In this full day tour to this region steeped in history and natural treasures, you’ll find long beaches, natural bays and dramatic cliffs. We’ll visit traditional fishing villages and upmarket resorts.
After being picked up from your resort we’ll cross the International Bridge into Portugal, heading for the purpose built luxury tourist resort and marina of Vilamouro, built from scratch in 1974. Admire the sleek yachts in the harbour and the luxurious waterfront holiday homes. If you’re ahistory buff seek out the ruins of the old Roman town just along the coast.
From here we’ll continue to Albufeira, a modern resort just 45km down the coast. The town was originally a fishing village but has since grown to become a modern tourist destination with an important marina, many golf courses and some beautiful beaches. The town still retains much of its traditional charm and you’ll have time here to have some lunch.
On the way back we’ll make a stop at Vila Real de San Antonio. This former fishing settlement, located at on the banks of the Guadiana River is now famous for its great shopping. You’ll find all the big names here as well as plenty of smaller shops selling typical Portuguese crafts, including beautifully painted tiles. Then we’ll catch a ferry across the slow-moving Guadiana back into Spain where a coach will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.

Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: Sail with us on a voyage of discovery and enjoy a glimpse of life in another continent with this day trip Morocco. Visit the historic cities of Tetouan and Tangier, while passing through the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. You will enjoy guided tours and free time as well as lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant. The tour proper begins once have crossed the border from Ceuta to Morocco. We’ll have an early photo stop along the way as well as an opportunity to ride camels. From there, it’s on to Tetouan, a city that as recently as 1956 was part of a Spanish protectorate. There is still the odd reminder of these links. A guided tour will take you landmarks such as Hassan II Square – site of the Royal Palace – the Jewish quarter, the Berber souk, the Medina and more. A noon lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant will be enlivened with folk music. After lunch, you’ll have some free time to walk it all off. We’ll then meet up to continue on to Tangier, which was also controlled by Spain until 1956 – and was even an English colony for 23 years in the 17th century. Here we’ll enjoy a sightseeing tour of the modern city and the diplomatic quarters.
Travel details: Please meet at the Travelsur officer in Algeciras harbour 30 minutes before the fast ferry sailing at 9am. The return sailing from Ceuta is at 7.30pm. You will receive information and stickers so that you can be identified by reps on arrival at Ceuta. You will need to provide your full name and passport number when making the reservation.

Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: Trace the steps of explorer Christopher Columbus in this half-day excursion around Huelva. It was from here that the 15th Century seafarer first set sail on his voyage of discovery across the Atlantic and he recruited many of his crewmen from the local ports. We’ll visit some of the most important sites associated with Columbus in and around Huelva including the Franciscan Monastery at Rabida where he spent the last months before departure and life-size replicas of the three caravels that made the perilous crossing.
First is a panoramic tour of the city of Huelva. Next we’ll head to nearby Palos de la Frontera. It was from here that Columbus set sail and we’ll visit the Wharf of the Caravels, fascinating open air museum where you can view life-size replicas the three tiny ships that made the crossing, La Niña, La Pinta and La Santa Maria. You’ll also find a fascinating museum containing numerous exhibits related to Columbus's voyage of discovery, a recreation of a mediaeval port neighbourhood and a reproduction of the world the crew of Columbus's first voyage encountered when they first made landfall in the Americas.

Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: Take a walk on the wild side and roam atop a dromedary through Andalusia’s magnificent Donana Natural Park. This park is a huge extension of protected landscape and wildlife, rendering its beauty one of the purest and most natural in all of Andalusia’s arid lands. And what better way to explore this region than atop a dromedary: a docile albeit eccentric ride – definitely something your friends and family will want to hear about – that will make you feel even more connected to and in harmony with the nature around you.
Man has been riding dromedaries since ancient times. They are a very calm and attractive animal that is easy to tame. An expert will be with you at all times to teach you how to properly mount the golden creature. The ride is thought for all audiences; children squeal with delight as the dromedary rises them to the sky when it stands up. They are, in fact, such easy animals to mount, even people suffering from disabilities are able to enjoy it.
With this one-hour leisurely tour, be taken through the park’s vast grasslands. From atop a tall dromedary, you have a privileged vantage point of the incredible variety of wildlife that populates the area, the most special sight being that of the Iberian lynx, a large wild feline that is currently in extreme danger of extinction. Feel like an ancient sultan, like in a dream, as the dromedary soothingly totters deeper and deeper into the wild.

Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: We start this nine hour tour at the entry to Doñana Natural Park where we’ll visit a couple of the visitor’s centres to get to know more about the most important species of flora and fauna here and how mankind and nature have coexisted over time. Then we’ll explore the village and hermitage of El Rocio, the location of one of Southern Europe’s most important pilgrimage sites.
Visit the nearby village of El Rocíoin a pleasant walk in carriage. We’ll drive you through spectacular landscapes and a wide variety of eco-systems, passing lagoons, sand-dunes, wetlands, saltmarshes and pine forests. The wildlife is abundant here, you may see African migratory birds, fallow deer, Spanish red deer, wild boar, European badger, Egyptian mongoose, and endangered species such as the Spanish Imperial Eagle and the Iberian Lynx.
This is a world-renowned pilgrimage site, attracting millions of pilgrims every June for the festivity of the much-venerated Virgin of El Rocio. We’ll visit the Chapel that houses the Virgin, a small carved wooden statue with magnificent rainments. Your guide will tell you all about the history of the cult of the virgin and its famous romeria. The tour will end with a visit to a traditional wine cellar where you will have the chance to try some of the region’s fine wines.

The final visit is to the old Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz. Images of this rabbit warren of narrow whitewashed alleys, colourfully tiled courtyards and lively bars and pavement cafés will stay in your heart for years to come.
Then after lunch you’ll have plenty of time to explore on your own. Go for a cruise down the river Guadalquivir or take a romantic ride by horse-drawn carriage around one of the city’s many historical quarters. Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: In the XVI century Seville became the centre of religiosity. The New World’s Discovery and the town recognition as Port of the Indies implied the establishment of religious orders that assisted clergymen as well as religious believers. Due to this growth of monasteries and convents in the XVI and XVII centuries, nowadays we can enjoy an incomparable religious heritage.
Stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of Santa Cruz to discover a cloistered convent in all its splendor, the artistic heritage contains the legends of this sacred place, the famous people who have been part of its history. To finish with, the visit to the convents of Seville offers the opportunity to discover the gastronomic world of the convents bakery and taste traditional cakes carefully made by the nuns according to the recipes that come from centuries ago. It will be a pleasure to taste and buy as many “heavenly delicacies” as he wishes.

Escursioni a Costa de la Luz - HORSE RIDING TROUGH THE DUNES AND BEACH OF DOÑANA
Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: The route starts from the facilities located at the Dune Park Matalascañas from there we move through this park that consists of pine forests and scrub typical Doñana up to the first fossil dunes Asperillo. Continue climbing up the dunes to reach one of the highest points in Doñana, with about 100 meters above sea level. The sands are stabilized in this section by a peculiar vegetation adapted to these conditions, such as juniper, juniper, camarinas, gorse, etc…
Once in the dunes move seaward to the edge of the cliffs of sandstone colors where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean and the entire coastline of Doñana both left and right. Once there is continued by a sandy path between native vegetation to a point where there is a ramp down in sand leads directly to the beach. We went down to the shore as the sea, strolling through it for about 20 minutes for a virgin beach from where you can see the base of the cliffs through which we have gone before. Finally we return back to the Equestrian Center in the same place. In total about 5-6km are crossed. During the tour the equestrian guide will explain different aspects and curiosities of the area visited.
The rides are 2 hours. No need to know riding for the activity. The walks are suitable for all audiences and ages, provided they reach the stirrups (very young children cannot ride so we put the limit at 5-6 years and minimum height of 110 cm) and a person can only go horse as by law (you cannot bring small children with an adult on the same horse: it is forbidden for safety).

First stop on arriving in Seville is a circular sightseeing tour by bus where you'll be able to get a general idea of the layout of this dazzling yet intimate city. Then go for stroll around the impressive Plaza España, a massive colonnaded semi-circular space built for the 1929 World Exhibition. We'll continue to the Maria Luisa Gardens with their fragrant orange trees, shady nooks and cool fountains.
Next we'll visit the city's magnificent Cathedral, one of the largest churches in the world. This amazing building is crammed full of priceless art treasures and is even said to contain the remains of Christopher Columbus.
The final visit is to the old Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz. Images of this rabbit warren of narrow whitewashed alleys, colourfully tiled courtyards and lively bars and pavement cafés will stay in your heart for years to come.
Then after lunch you’ll have plenty of time to explore on your own. Go for a cruise down the river Guadalquivir or take a romantic ride by horse-drawn carriage around one of the city’s many historical quarters. Escursioni a Costa de la Luz: Spain and Morocco may just be a few kilometres apart by sea but they are worlds away culturally. This fascinating day trip to the historic city of Tangier will give you an intriguing insight into north African life while enjoying a guided tour and free time as well as lunch. Sail from Tarifa to Tangier, which is known as the ‘White City’. It has historic links to Spain – as recently as 1956 it was part of a Spanish protectorate – and was even an English colony for 23 years in the 17th century. Yet despite the European connections, it is a quintessentially Moroccan city.
We’ll head to the Grotto of Hercules, a mythical cave where, according to legend, Hercules rested after successfully completing his 12 tasks. The grotto faces onto the Atlantic and the entrance floods during high tide. Locals believe that it was built by an ancient civilisation. You can take some photos or avail of the option to ride a camel.
Lunch will be a traditional Moroccan restaurant.
We will tour the city centre, with guided walks of the Medina, Kasbah and more. You will also have some free time for shopping or further sightseeing at your own leisure.
Meeting/pick-up point: Please meet at the Travelsur office in Tarifa harbour 30 minutes before the fast ferry sailing at 10am (please be at meeting point 9:30am). The return sailings at 6pm. Flamenco, although there are various discussions about its roots, is the cradle of art to Andalusia. The birthplace of flamenco is the region of Andalusia and the Andalusian people, whose interpreters have found it the most concise, expressive and easy way to interpret different moods and all kind of feelings.
The flamenco feeling that comes to any fan anywhere in the world to the artistic expression created by the merge of vocal music, dance and musical accompaniment (singing, dancing and guitar playing) and is considered Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This was considered by UNESCO, presented with its highest honor in 2010.
Follow the path of the most unique cultural flamenco through our historic walk “Flamenco en Triana”. From the statue of Antonio Mairena to the most remote points where singers, dancers and bullfighters walked their art. On the way, a stop in neighboring pens on the streets where they lived. Potters characters like Juan Belmonte, Francisco Ortega Vargas “El Fillo” or the famous dynasty of the Caganchos.
The visit takes about forty-five minutes and are translated into several languages. The visit ends with the performance of our flamenco compound of guitar, singing and dancing in the historical context of Triana in a unique environment, sipping a local wine.
