Escursioni a Chiapas: In questa escursione di una giornata intera esploreremo la regione dei suggestivi laghi di Montebello, l'incontaminata Amatenango del Valle e la splendida cascata Chiflon. Ci dirigeremo verso Amatenango, un villaggio Tzeltal rinomato per le sue ceramiche e le cui donne si dedicano da migliaia di anni alla produzione artigianale di vasi di terracotta e ornamenti. La tappa successiva è la Cascata de El Chiflon, una delle più alte e più potenti in tutto il Messico. Rimarrete esterrefatti alla vista dell'acqua spumeggiante che si lancia da 120 metri lungo una scogliera di calcare quasi completamente verticale, formando nuvole e onde di nebbia attraverso il paesaggio caldo e secco. Tuttavia, il culmine di questo viaggio sono i laghi di Montebello. Situati al confine con il Guatemala, questi laghi sono famosi per i loro colori vivaci, che variano a causa delle loro diverse composizioni minerali, che vanno dal verde smeraldo e turchese al verde scuro, ma anche viola e nero rossastro. Ci sono 59 laghi in questa regione e avremo tempo di visitare tra 6 e 9 dei più belli prima di tornare al resort in prima serata.

DAY 02 SAN CRISTOBAL–LAGOS DE MONTEBELLO–SAN CRISTOBAL
Morning departure from “San Cristobal de las Casas” to “Lagos de Montebello”. Our first stop to the indigenous pottery community of”Amatenango del Valle “, from where we will head for the “Chiflón” waterfall, a natural freefall of water surrounded by exuberant vegetation of reeds and palm groves. We will end this tour with a visit to Mexico´s most beautiful Lake District, known as: “Lagos de Montebello”.
This nature reserve consists of several acres of pines, oaks and rain forest (jungle) where, weather permitting, we will have the opportunity to admire and enjoy the many lakes and appreciate the varying hues of the waters in this splendid and picturesque natural environment. Early evening return to San Cristobal de Las Casas. Overnight stay.
DAY 03 SAN CRISTOBAL –INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES – TUXTLA AIRPORT
Departure after breakfast, for the Indigenous Communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group. Our first visit will take us to the town of Chamula for a learning experience with an aim to understanding the fusion of contemporary traditions and ancient Mayan characteristics that give this place its identity. We will then continue towards Zinacantan where we will visit the church and the home of a family cooperative where we will be welcomed with a regional drink and have the opportunity to watch women work the waist loom which dates from Pre-Columbian times.
Having seen some of the samples of what they produce, we will be invited into their kitchen where we may be fortunate enough to be offered a tasting of their traditional hand-made tortillas. Transfer from San Cristobal de Las Casas – Tuxtla Gutierrez Airport for the return flight.

Early morning departure to Palenque stopping at Agua Azul, a group of waterfalls created by the currents of the: Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá rivers which have formed shallow canyons banked by vertical cliffs where you will be able to swim and enjoy the different areas of such magnificent environment. We will then continue on to the Misol-Ha waterfalls which rise 30 meters in height and are surrounded by natural rain forest, which make this an extraordinarily beautiful and refreshing place.
Our last stop will be a visit to the archaeological site of Palenque: A Mayan city known for its architectural and sculptural heritage with a number of admirable buildings including: the Palace, the Temple of the Foliated Cross, and the Temple of the Sun amongst others. Transfer to the hotel in the city of Palenque and overnight stay.

Very early morning start for the drive to Frontera Corozal, where we will be boarding a boat for an approximately hour-long journey down the river to visit the mystical archaeological site of Yaxchilan, renowned for the quality of the sculptures to be found there. Upon our return, we will go on to visit Bonampak which means "painted walls". This site is famed for the vividly painted walls throughout its expanse, which depict many features of Mayan day-to-day life. Return trip to Palenque and overnight stay.

Escursioni a Chiapas: Visit Aguas Azules, one of Mexico's most beautiful natural attractions and Palenque, one of its most important archaeological sites in this full day excursion. First stop after an early start and breakfast en route are the Cascadas de Aguas Azules, a series of shallow pools and waterfalls formed by rimstone dams. The shimmering, limestone rich water, coloured crystalline blue cascades down a series of these natural dams and ends in the clear, waist-deep Shumulhá River. You will have plenty of to swim and paddle in the designated areas. Next stop are the impressive falls at Misol-Há, a 120-foot drop of cascading water in a tropical rainforest setting that should have been the backdrop for a Tarzan movie. The final stop is the impressive Mayan ruins of Palenque. Palenque, carpeted by a sea of green jungle and clothed in history and legend, is a stark reminder of how Mayan civilization flourished for hundreds of years in this lush tropical region. Although the area is still being excavated, there is plenty to see here, including the Temple of Inscriptions, the Temple of Skulls and the Royal Palace. There is an excellent museum and a museum store-refreshment area located within the park.

Escursioni a Chiapas: This is definitely a day to remember, we'll take a journey through the lush tropical rainforest of Chiapas in order to explore two unique Mayan archaeological sites. After an early (6am) start we'll head for Bonampak, stopping for breakfast en route.
This archaeological site features colourful murals in many of its structures and buildings. The dense jungle that covered Bonampak for a long time helped to preserve the vibrant colours of these wall paintings. Then we'll move on to an embarcadero at Frontera Corozal where we'll board a boat for a journey down the Usumacinta River towards the archaeological site of Yaxchilan. This ancient Mayan settlement, known as the city of the green stones was one of the most important cities of the Mayan culture and is particularly known for its renowned for its beautifully carved lintels and many temples linked by a maze of courtyards and passage ways.
These lintels, together with the stelae erected before the major buildings, contain hieroglyphic texts describing the dynastic history of the city. We will have plenty of time to explore the ruins and to climb the highest temple from where we can admire unforgettable views over the surrounding area before returning to our hotel where we will arrive at around 7pm.

The museum itself covers an area of 6.8 hectares with a collection of 36 archaeological artefacts including altars, stelae and colossal heads and 33 monoliths dating from 1300-200 BC. Escursioni a Chiapas: Amatenango del Valle, a community located 20 minutes from the city of San Cristobal de Las Casas. It is a picturesque community, ranging from the typical dress of their women: skirts blue, red skirt, white blouse embroidered in red and yellow and touched; to the wonderful creations of pottery as jaguars, doves, pots, and bowls, among others.
The tour begins, leaving the hotel in San Cristobal de Las Casas to the pottery community. We come to a workshop where these beautiful pieces are made. Experts give us an explanation of the process of the mud, creating the pieces, burnished or correcting imperfections, burned and painted parts.
