Escursioni a Canadian Rockies - Heritage Site Afternoon Tea
Escursioni a Canadian Rockies: Treat yourself to a Rocky Mountains tradition, with afternoon tea served against the backdrop of some of the most magnificent natural landscapes in Canada, the waters of lovely Maligne Lake gently lapping at your side.
Afternoon tea was a tradition in the Rocky Mountains in the days when visitors came on horseback to upcountry camps: after a long day in the saddle riders would seek refreshment for parched tongues. Now you can quench your thirst and your curiosity alike at the Maligne Lake Chalet, a listed historical building, by reliving the ritual of afternoon tea. The bucolic charm of this experience is accentuated by oversize Canadian scones and deliciously sweet jams. Served in the recently restored heritage log chalet, dating back to around 1927, the tea is accompanied by the famous views, capturing the quintessential grace of an era that valued luxury in the midst of wilderness.
Afternoon tea can be enjoyed on its own or in combination with a scenic boat cruise on Maligne Lake. With its setting in Jasper National Park, the lake is famed for the colour of its water, the surrounding mountains, the three glaciers visible from its shores and Spirit Island, one of the most photographed places in the world. Whichever option you choose, all you need to do is sit back, relax and drink it all in.
Meeting/pick-up point: Maligne Tours: 616 Patricia Street, Jasper National Start/opening time: Cruises depart at 1pm, with tea time at 2.30pm or 2pm, with tea time at 3.30pm. Afternoon Tea at the Maligne Lake Chalet is offered from July 1st to Labor Day between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
Others: Afternoon Tea is not recommended for children.
