Visit the archaelogical park of Tikal: Transfer from Antigua Guatemala to the airport to abroad to your flight ahead to Flores (please note that the air ticket is not included). Then a guided tour of Tikal National Park, Tikal means “place of voices”. It is nowadays, the biggest Mayan City known and studied. The park has an extension of 576kms squared. It was declared Human Heritage patrimony, by UNESCO in 1979.
Among its main temples and plazas: Major Plaza it is the Archaeological Park of Tikal, surrounded by impressive buildings as the Temples I and II, the North and Central Acropolis, as well as a big range of wakes and altars that talk part of the dynastic history of the Mayan Civilization in Tikal. Temple I known also as Big Jaguar Temple, it was built around the 700 year of our era. Temple II it is known also as Masks, close the Big Plaza by the west, with a 38mts. high, the temple was built by the governor Ah Cacao around the 700 A. C. North Acropolis it is a religious area, within the ceremonial complex of TikalCentral Acropolis It is integrated by small courtyard in different levels, by large and low buildings called “palaces”.
7.5 hour walking tour around this majestic Mayan city considered one of the largest and most monumental of all sites discovered in the Mayan World. With a walking tour of the squares, monuments and major temples you can also enjoy the rainforest, home to hundreds of exotic birds and a wide variety of wild animals. At the end of the tour you will be provided with the transfer to Mundo Maya International Airport for the flight back.
