Castelbuono and Wine Tasting: Escape the tourist resorts and embrace a more culturally rich experience in Madonie National Park and then an insightful visit to Castelbuono. Oh, and a little wine tasting experience of true Sicilian wine, the perfect tour!
* Discover the delightful Madonie National Park
* Leave the tourist resorts and learn about the real Sicily
* Taste some delicious local wine in a Medieval Town
Leave the busy coast behind and make your way up to a tranquil location in the mountains surrounded by incomparable beauty. Madonie National Park is a little paradise surrounded by Pizzo Carbonara standing at 1979m above sea level and is the second highest in Sicily. Observe the calm life of the locals with vocations such as farmers and local little shops in the hilltop towns.
Next, we’ll explore the sleepy town of Castelbuono, a place that captures the personality of the Island. Named after its iconic castle and arguably the best preserved one in Sicily, this town breathes culture in the form of food, wine and lifestyle. If you happen to pass by at 4pm, note how the world has returned to slumber for their siesta. Stroll the cobbled streets and people watch as the bars and restaurants begin to fill with the usual hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Here we’ll find a traditional wine bar, where we will leisurely sample Sicilian wine along with some tasty snacks. Sit-back, relax and grasp the essence of Sicily.
