Newport tourist bus: Discover all the great things to do and see in Newport with City Sightseeing! Discover Newport on an open top Newport Sightseeing tour!
The Newport Sightseeing Tour leaves from the Bus Station at the heart of the city centre redevelopment, which is just a few minutes walk from the Train Station. In the city centre are the Newport Museum and Art Gallery, the Victorian Provisions Market, and the Tourist Information Centre, as well as a variety of branded and independent shops. There is a wide variety of public art in the centre in the form of sculptures and murals which trace the history and heritage of the city.
As the tour leaves the station, passengers can see the impressive new University city centre campus building on the right. The tour then travels up Kingsway and past the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre (award winning architectural building), the Steel Wave sculpture (a symbol of Newport's steel and sea history), the Old Green Mural depicting the Monmouthshire Railway and Canal Company (key to Newport's growth in the 19th century) and the remains of the Castle on the riverbank, which dates from the late 1200s.
