Highland Lochs, Glens and Whisky (1 day tour) Excursions à Edimbourg
Highland Lochs, Glens and Whisky (1 day tour): You travel over the Forth Road Bridge past Perth to Dunkeld and the Hermitage, in Macbeth's Birnam Wood, for a forest walk amongst spectacular waterfalls and some of the tallest trees in the country. Then journey north for lunch at Pitlochry before travelling to see the Queen's View on Loch Tummel.
Your afternoon continues with a visit to Dewar's Whisky Distillery, before travelling the length of majestic Loch Tay, beneath the dramatic Ben Lawers to Killin in romantic Glen Dochart with its impressive waterfalls. This area is abundant with ancient history. From here you journey through Rob Roy country past Stirling Castle on your way back to Edinburgh.
Aberfeldy Distillery was founded by John Dewar & Sons on the south shore of the river Tay in 1896 and started production two years later. In 1999, an Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Single Malt brand was introduced. In 2000, Dewar's World of Whisky opened on location as a way to educate consumers and press to the world of Dewar's spirits. Aberfeldy Distillery distils single malt Scotch whisky and its products include Aberfeldy 12 years old and 21 years old. International rating organizations in general have had different reactions to Aberfeldy whiskies.
Start/opening time: 9am. Others: Please note that children at the age of 5 and under are not permitted on any of the tours.
On Sundays from November to March Dewar's World of Whisky is closed and we will visit either Blair Athol or Glenturret Distilleries instead.
