Excursion to Rosario Islands: Natural landscapes, turquoise waters, fine beaches and coral reefs make up the idyllic beauty of the Rosario Islands. An archipelago of 27 blissful islands located off the coast of Cartagena, you’ll be transported there in under an hour for a day of relaxation, sun and swimming.
The Rosario Islands were declared a National Park in 1977 and its unique ecosystem is the attraction of these islands. During the boat ride there, an English and Spanish commentary will fill you in on all the history and necessary information for visiting the islands. Once you reach the shores of Isla Grande, you’ll soon see why these islands are on everybody’s lips. You have access to the San Pedro de Majagua Hotel and its communal areas for maximum enjoyment during your stay here, including the restaurants, restrooms and any additional services available for you to buy at the hotel. The hotel is situated where French painter Pierre Daguet originally built his house and studio; take inspiration from the landscapes that initially inspired him. You can avail of the scuba diving centres at the hotel, ecological walks through the island, kayaking and snorkelling, or simply sit back, relax and listen to the sound of the ocean.
Take a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters that characterise the islands and admire the coral reef formations that make up their distinctive ecosystem. Soak up the tropical atmosphere as well as typically Caribbean lunch of fried fish and you’ll return to Cartagena refreshed, chilled out and spiritually cleansed.
