Visit the South of Cebu: The city of Carcar is 40.5km southeast of Cebu City. Carcar's history dates back to the pre-Spanish colonial period. The Town originated from a seaside settlement called Sialao. Carcar is known as “Little Marikina in the South” because of the bustling shoe making industry.
Drive south to Carcar, an old Spanish town with colonial style houses and the Carcar Church which dates back to 18th century. Proceed to the busy flea market to shop, and witness how “chicharon”, crunchy porky slices, and “ampao”, the local rice crispies are prepared. Afterwards, visit the local cottage industries involved in the production of shoes, houses and local farm implements. The tour ends at Jumalon Butterfly Sanctuary where you will admire the lepido mosaic made entirely of butterfly wings. Then drive back to your hotel.
