The tour starts in the heart of historic Chinatown. Two wheels are ideal for exploring the bustling alleyways and crowded markets. Whizz down narrow backstreets and crowded thoroughfares and feel your senses come alive with the sights, sounds and aromas of this vibrant community. Pass shop houses selling a bewildering variety of wares, from Buddhist amulets to recycled truck engines. See the locals at work, play and prayer, worshipping at hidden backstreet hidden temples; ritual paper burnings and the omnipresent spirit house displays evidence of a millenarian culture.
From here we’ll cross the slow-moving Chao Phraya River, stopping to admire the majestic views of the city skyline behind us. The next destination is Thonburi, the historic third capital of Thailand. In contrast to bustling Chinatown, Thonburi has a much more peaceful feel about it. We’ll pedal through residential neighbourhoods past placid canal. This area still conserves the traditional Thai way of life with floating markets, orchards and farms.
