Promenade en kayak le long de la rivière de Bilbao: Experience Bilbao from another level! Take a leisurely canoe ride down the Estuary of Bilbao and see the city from the water. The city’s landmarks will tower high above you as you paddle your way through the city in a sightseeing experience with a difference.
Your sightseeing water tour starts at the Ramon de la Sota wharf, right next to the river and close to the Maritime Museum. Before we make a splash in the water, you’ll get a lesson on the basics of canoeing and then it’s time to get into your wetsuit and life jacket. Let the instructor show you the way and let the gentle rocks of the water lull you into a sense of peacefulness and tranquillity with the city hustle and bustle so distant and untouchable. You can choose a single or double canoe and whether you’re going it alone or with a partner, you’ll see the best of Bilbao from a different perspective. As you paddle around the estuary that carves its way around the city, soon the glittering façade of the giant Guggenheim Museum will come into view. One of the top sights in Bilbao, from the canoe you’ll get uninterrupted views across to the space age building that helped put the city on the map and into the tourist spotlight. Cross under the Zubizuri footbridge, which appears like a suspended harp over the water, before reaching the Arriaga Theatre where we’ll turn around and make our way back to the starting point.
