Santay Island Tour: Santay Island is an Ecuadorian island. It is located on the Guayas River 800 meters away from the city of Guayaquil and belongs to Durán. The area of the island comprises 2,179 hectares. Additional activities such as nature tourism (observation of fauna and flora), adventure tourism (hiking, cycling) and cultural and experiential activities.
Wearing comfortable clothes, using sun protection and, above all, being predisposed to respect nature, are the main recommendations when visiting Santay Island. From Tuesday there is the possibility of reaching this natural sanctuary on foot or by bicycle. With the opening of the pedestrian bridge, in El Oro and La Ría, in the south of Guayaquil, there has grown interest in knowing the island, located in front of the city and that belongs to the neighbouring Guayasense of Durán.
In this first phase of the Guayaquil Ecological Project, visitors can access the island, through a pedestrian bridge of 840 meters long, until the entrance to the island. The Ecoaldea is reached by a path of high walkers of 1.6 kilometres.
