En el último tramo veremos una réplica de un Kau -típica vivienda de las poblaciones nativas- desde alli nos dirigiremos a la confitería donde haremos un break para disfrutar de una maravillosa vista del lago antes de seguir nuestro recorrido. Para entender de una manera más acabada el proceso que nos relatan, la visita al Centro de Interpretación Histórica de Calafate, constituye una parada obligada en el recorrido. El didáctico recorrido está estratégicamente pensado para introducirnos en la historia de la Patagonia austral desde su misma formación. A través de líneas del tiempo expresadas en paneles escritos en español e inglés, láminas con dibujos y fotografías, gigantografías, exhibición de objetos, utensilios y réplicas de elementos, además de los relatos sonoros que acompañan el itinerario, atravesamos catorce mil años de historia humana y ambiental. Los procesos glaciarios y las transformaciones ecológicas del pleistoceno, la megafauna y el arte rupestre reflejan fielmente la Patagonia prehistórica. El surgimiento y la consolidación de la cultura tehuelche y los primeros encuentros con los colonizadores, el auge de la producción ovina y las grandes estancias, el conflicto laboral y las huelgas patagónicas con sus trágicos desenlaces, nos conducen hasta los orígenes de la ciudad de El Calafate. Excursiones en Calafate: An opportunity to visit El Chalten and Viedma Glacier for the day, to witness an exclusive, natural and unique scenario in the north area of Los Glaciares National Park.
After we arrive at El Chalten and we go to the Eco Camp to have lunch, we will depart towards Bahía Túnel Port, where we will get on a ship to view the Viedma Glacier, the largest glacier as compared with over 300 glaciers inside the National Park, and the largest glacier in Argentina.
While sailing for 2 hours and 30 minutes, we will have a unique experience: enjoying the blue ice walls of the Viedma Glacier, which are 40 metres high. We sail through Viedma Lake towards the front of the glacier, from where we can see the peak of the Huemul Mount. This Glacial Lake is about 1100 square kilometers.
By the end of the tour, our bus will be waiting to return to El Calafate.

We will stop at the entrance of the National Park in order to pay the admission fee and, once inside the park, we will go to “Curva de los Suspiros” (“Curve of Sighs”), where we will get off the vehicle in order to see the Perito Moreno Glacier for the first time. Further on, we will stop at the Muelle Bajo las Sombras (Pier Under the Shadows) so that those who are willing to go sailing can get closer to the southern wall of the Glacier (optional). Then we will move on to the front catwalks of the glacier, where we will watch it from different balconies and enjoy our free time by appreciating the various detachments. Return to El Calafate.

We will stop at the entrance of the National Park in order to pay the admission fee and, once inside the park, we will go to “Curva de los Suspiros” (“Curve of Sighs”), where we will get off the vehicle in order to see the Perito Moreno Glacier for the first time. Further on, we will stop at the Muelle Bajo las Sombras (Pier Under the Shadows) so that those who are willing to go sailing can get closer to the southern wall of the Glacier (optional). Then we will move on to the front catwalks of the glacier, where we will watch it from different balconies and enjoy our free time by appreciating the various detachments. Return to El Calafate.

We will pick you up around 7:30am and will undertake the journey of 50 Km to Punta Bandera, where the boat departs at 9 o’clock. We will pass by the edge of the main body of Argentino Lake and move on towards Punta Bandera Port, where, after paying the Park admission fee, we will get on a modern catamaran.
The first part of the excursion is in the northern arm of Lake Argentino across the Boca del Diablo, the narrowest part of the lake, then you will go to the Upsala channel and the Spegazzini channel where you will be able to see, at the end of each channel, the respective glaciers.
The navigation runs between spectacular icebergs of immense size and varied forms. From the boat you will see, among others, the Upsala and the Spegazzini glaciers. We will return to the port and then go to El Calafate by a land transportation vehicle.

Excursiones en Calafate - Parque Nacional de Los Glaciares y tour en barco
Excursiones en Calafate: Leaving from Calafate we take the provincial route Nº11 that, during the first 40 km, it runs besides the main body of the Argentino Lake. In this part of the tour we enjoy panoramic views of the lake and the stepperian landscape. Once in Los Glaciares National Park, we drive through the Magallanic forest up to the end of the road, where we find the balconies and walkways. The idea of this excursion is to spend some time walking around the balconies, enjoying the different views of the glacier and having your lunch. For having lunch you have access to a restaurant or snack bar (for fast food). After lunch you will board on the catamaran to navigate the Rico Arm, which lets you appreciate the icebergs from the Perito Moreno Glacier ice walls. The boat paces at a reasonable distance from the glacier allowing to appreciate the fallings of ice blocks from the ice wall.
It takes one hour and gives the possibility to see a completely different view of unbelievable formations and colours of the Glacier.
