Manzanillo Excursions & Tours - Colonial Colima
Manzanillo Excursions & Tours: Take the scenic highway heading to Colima, our capital. Once in downtown, we will take pleasure in a guided visit to the government palace and the cathedral; at the end of this visit you will have free time to explore. You can sink into the history of the ancient culture living in this area by visiting the two main archaeological sites: la Campana and El Chanal. La Campana, distinguished by a mound in the shape of a bell, is roughly 15 minutes from the city. El Chanal reached its peak between 1000 and 1400 AD and includes a Mesoamerican ball court, the Plaza of Day and Night, the Plaza of the Altars and the Plaza of Time. Glyphs like those found in central Mexico can be seen on stairwells on pyramid bases. Do not miss the great museum, an amazing Ex-Hacienda. Later, time for a Mexican tapas lunch with mariachi in the town of Comala, known for maintaining its traditions, the delicious coffee, the flavoured punch, the local drink, and its magnetic hill. On a clear day, enjoy the view of the volcanoes from a distance.
Colima is the capital of the state with the same name. It is located near the Colima Volcano, which divides the small state from that of Jalisco. Other tourist attractions nearby are Manzanillo and Comala. This city ranked first in FDI Intelligence as liveable small city in Mexico and tenth in Latin America.

Manzanillo Excursions & Tours - Horseback Riding by the Beach
Manzanillo Excursions & Tours: Once you arrive at Rancho Miramar, your guide will give you a brief explanation on how to ride a horse and some useful tips on security. Next, you will begin your tour horseback riding in Manzanillo's surroundings, getting to know it a little better. You will visit the lagoon and the mountain while enjoying the beatiful views.
Your guide will tell you all about Manzanillo's flora and fauna, and if you're lucky, you will meet "Panchito" the crocodile and "Maria" the iguana. The tour ends on the beach, where you will also have a chance to admire local handicrafts and have something to eat at one of the restaurants.

Manzanillo Excursions & Tours: Experience the Mexican Riviera in the spectacular resort and port of Manzanillo. You’ll discover miles of sun-kissed beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, fascinating history and authentic Mexican culture on this half-day tour. You can then shop till you drop in the recently developed downtown area with an endless choice of tempting boutiques.
Leaving your hotel we will drive you to the top of the breathtaking Santiago Peninsula. This rocky headland boasts wonderful views of Manzanillo’s famous twin bays and is home to the city’s most glamorous properties and hotels. Manzanilla plays host to a tempting choice of pristine beaches. As your tour continues, we will stop at Miramar beach situated along Santiago bay and visit the lively market. Spend some time exploring the brightly coloured stalls, admire locally handcrafted goods, jewellery and regional food and maybe choose to pick up that perfect souvenir.
We then make our way to the stunning downtown area and the port of Manzanillo, Mexico’s most important commercial port. On the way we will pass by el Espirito Santo Malecón, named after the ship ‘Espiritu Santo’ whose captain Alvaro Saavedra Cerón explored Manzanillo Bay for the very first time back in 1527. The town has undergone something of a rebirth in recent times with a newly developed town centre and port area that still retains its authentic charm. Take a leisurely wander through the narrow sun-dappled streets flanked by beautiful colonial-style houses and swaying palm trees as we lead you towards the city’s town centre. Here the main square of downtown Manzanillo is dominated by a giant turquoise sailfish sculpture, symbol of Manzanillo. Here you will have plenty of time to take pictures and go shopping before we accompany you back to your hotel.

Wander tranquil Melaque beach, the west end of which is sheltered from large swells and therefore perfect for swimming.
Uncover the picture-perfect lagoon behind Barra de Navidad, scattered with tiny, traditional fishing boats from which locals gather scallops and other fresh seafood. Jump aboard one of these boats, also known as panga taxis, for the short ride to the beautiful tourist development of Isla Navidad.
Visit the towns historic Christ of Fallen Arms and learn the story of the miracle behind its name, dating back to hurricane Lily in 1971. Stroll and explore this pretty village before indulging delicious lunch of local seafood, beef or chicken - the perfect end to your exploration of Jalisco state's tropical south.

Departing from Manzanillo, our tour bus picks up at your hotel at 9am and drives south along the Pacific Ocean for 45 kilometres until it reaches the port city of Cuyutlán. Begin your adventure by visiting El Tortugario, an ecological centre located next to the beach. Offering an up close understanding of local species, you will learn more about local sea turtles, crocodiles and reptiles from the professionals here. Witness their conservation efforts of endangered species in action and, depending on the season, you may experience the joy of your life: releasing a baby turtle back into the wild!
Cuyutlán Lagoon, a vast 50-kilometre expanse of water that is famous for salt production and its mangroves, follows after El Tortugario. Board small boats and cruise around its serpentine waterways. You will discover how important these natural barriers are with protecting coastal areas against hurricanes and flooding. Comprised of mangrove trees, this unique ecosystem is an important habitat for many local species.
