Departing from Osaka we travel to the small island of Miyajima (literally meaning ‘shrine island’), which depending on the number of participants we travel to by bus, jumbo taxi or train to this magical destination; a top pick amongst tourists who come to Japan. Home to one of the most scenic views in the country, once we arrive you can set your eyes on the vermillion shrine floating majestically above the deep blue water, acting as the gateway to the Itsukushima Shrine. Established in the 6th century, it’s famous for its ornate Shinden-zukuri style structure and set amongst lush scenery, here you’ll also see wild deer roaming freely in the untouched abundant nature of Miyajima.
We return to Miyajimaguchi via ferry where we make our way to the next stop: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum. The city, whose name serves as a reminder of the fateful event on 6th August 1945, opened a park to serve as a reminder to future generations. The Atomic Bomb Dome is a symbol of the disaster, which has been preserved as it was in order to promote peace and the elimination of atomic weapons. At the end of the tour we return to Osaka.

Behold the castle’s strikingly beautiful and ornate white exterior that gives it the nickname of White Heron Castle.
Next on the tour we head to the nearby Edo-style Japanese Koko-en Garden. Constructed on the former grounds of a samurai’s residence, the garden features nine unique gardens that you can stroll through and enjoy the surrounding landscape that harks back to the Edo period. Enjoy a Japanese style lunch here in the gardens before we make our way to Maiko via JR Special Rapid Service or Rapid Service (non-reserved seat).
From here we continue to the world’s longest suspension bridge where you’ll walk 47 metres above sea level along the impressive Maiko Marine Promenade. At the end of the tour, we make our way back to Osaka via public transport (note that seating is not guaranteed) from Maiko.

Afterwards, we take a rest and enjoy a Japanese and Western-style buffet lunch before we head to Meriken Park, a picturesque area by the waterfront. Built on reclaimed land, the park features many unique artworks for you to admire. Next we board the train from Sannomiya Station to Sumiyoshi Station (note that there is no reserved seating) ready for our Japanese Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Tour. You’ll spend the next hour learning about traditional sake making methods and history in the famous brewing town of Nada, where at the end of the visit you’ll get to taste the sake for yourself. Hop aboard the train from Osaka to Kyoto for a morning discovering the sights and sounds of Kyoto. Arrive in the former ancient capital to begin a tour of the many temples and palaces that adorn the city.
We start at the World Heritage Nijo Castle whose flamboyant style and sublime gardens are bound to impress. Then head to the striking Kinkaku-ji Temple, known as the Golden Pavilion for its sparkling golden exterior as well as its spectacular setting surrounded by a lake. Finish your whirlwind tour of Kyoto by visiting the former ruling palace of the Emperor of Japan: Kyoto Imperial Palace. Entry to the palace for international visitors generally requires application in advance, but participants of this tour can enter only by going through a brief procedure. If you join the tour on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, instead of the palace we visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine which was built in 947 as a shrine to bureaucrat, scholar and poet Sugawara no Michizane. The shrine is especially spectacular during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.
After a jam-packed morning of sightseeing, we return to Osaka by JR Special Rapid Service or Rapid Service.

Fushimi Inari Taisha is in southern Kyoto is an important Shinto Shrine dedicated to the god of prosperity. It is famous for its thousands of vermillion torii gates that arch over a long path behind the shrine. Walking through these gates gives you a sense surrealism as in a different world. Kiyomizu-dera Temple, it is one of UNESCO world heritage historic temples in eastern Kyoto.
This Buddhist Temple is built without using a single nail for its structure. The main hall has a large veranda supported by tall pillars that jut out over the hillside which gives an impressive view of the city below. Kinkaku-ji Temple also known as the "Golden Temple" is another UNESCO world heritage Temple in northern Kyoto.
It is a Zen Buddhist temple set in a magnificent Japanese strolling garden overlooking a pond with its two top stories covered entirely with pure gold leaf. Take in a beautiful variation of the temple scenery with the changing of the seasons.

We kick-start our sightseeing tour by visiting the star of the show: Nara Park and Todai-ji Temple, also known as the Great Buddha. This is the largest wooden structure in the world which houses the largest bronze figure in the world is truly awe-inspiring. Absorb the scale of this Unesco World Heritage Site, and as you wander through Nara Park come closer than ever to wild deer; thought to be the shrine messengers.
We continue our afternoon in Nara by seeing one of the most celebrated shrines in the city: Kasuga Taisha. Founded in the 8th century, the shrine is famous for its bronze lanterns that adorn the buildings where you are free to stroll through the areas not requiring admission. To round off the tour we go to Nara Nagomikan, the largest souvenir shop in Nara where you can stock up on local souvenirs to remember your time.

Once we arrive in Kyoto we start at the World Heritage Nijo Castle whose flamboyant style and sublime gardens are bound to impress. Then head to the striking Kinkaku-ji Temple, known as the Golden Pavilion for its sparkling golden exterior as well as its spectacular setting surrounded by a lake. Finish your tour of Kyoto by visiting the former ruling palace of the Emperor of Japan: Kyoto Imperial Palace. Entry to the palace for international visitors generally requires application in advance, but participants of this tour can enter only by going through a brief procedure. If you join the tour on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, instead of the palace we visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine which was built in 947 which is especially spectacular during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.
After a Japanese lunch in Kyoto we kick-start our sightseeing tour in Nara by visiting the star of the show: Nara Park and Todai-ji Temple, also known as the Great Buddha. This is the largest wooden structure in the world which houses the largest bronze figure in the world is truly awe-inspiring. Absorb the scale of this Unesco World Heritage Site, and as you wander through Nara Park come closer than ever to wild deer; thought to be the shrine messengers.
We continue by seeing one of the most celebrated shrines in the city: Kasuga Taisha. Founded in the 8th century, the shrine is famous for its bronze lanterns that adorn the buildings where you are free to stroll through the areas not requiring admission. To round off the tour we go to Nara Nagomikan, the largest souvenir shop in Nara where you can stock up on local souvenirs to remember your time.

From Hotel Granvia we start our tour on foot to the Floating Garden Observatory; an open air skybridge overlooking the city and as far away as Awaji Island and Mt Ikoma. Connecting the two towers of the Umeda Sky Building, the Floating Garden Observatory affords spectacular views from 170m above the city.
Before we continue with our stroll through the city, we stop for a western-style lunch at the Hotel Granvia. From here we make our way by public transport to the wonder that is Osaka Castle. Surrounded by a moat and park, Osaka Castle played a central role in Japanese history. A status and power symbol, it was founded in the 16th century by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, a remarkable shogun during the Sengoku period. With the help of a knowledgeable guide get to know the castle’s history, admire its intricate decoration and striking stone wall that is sits upon. Just a short walk away is where we board the Aqua Liner for an hour long cruise along the Okawa River to watch the seasonal landscapes of Osaka as well as its prominent and historical sites.

The total walking distance is approximately 6 km. The tour may use Osakajokoen Station on the way to Osaka Castle instead of Temmabashi Station.

From Osaka we travel by Nankai Railway, Limited Express to Koyasan station where by bus we continue our journey to Ichinohashi Kanko Center.
Get your first taste of Buddhist lifestyle with a vegetarian Buddhist lunch before we start our tour of this fascinating monastic complex with your guide. Firstly we go to Okuno-in Temple, the highlight of Koya-san, where you walk along the 2km path to the temple located in a mystical atmosphere, lined with hundreds of thousands of small stone pagodas. We then explore the Danjo Garan Complex, a sacred place that represents the concept of Shingon Mikkyo Buddhism established by Kobo Daishi (Saint Kobo). Take time to appreciate the natural setting looking down over the area from a height of 900m, as well as the long-held traditions that are still visible in this unique place, before we embark on our journey back to Osaka by bus and Nankai Railway.
