Then observe two towering symbols of old Frankfurt, the rebuilt St Bartholomew’s Cathedral and the Epiphany Church, and one that has become an emblem of the new city, the 88 metre-tall Main Plaza, a truly eye-catching art deco revival skyscraper that surprisingly dates from the beginning of this century.
Pass the Eiserner Steg and behold the dazzling skyline of the modern Mainhattan, as the locals call this area. See futuristic skyscrapers such as the Westhafen Tower and maybe catch a glimpse of the Eurotower, the headquarters of the European Central Bank. Frankfurt Excursions & Tours: Frankfurt is a dynamic city in Germany. You can find historical sights again and again. Frankfurt is not just proud of its most famous son, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The Kaiserdom (cathedral) and the Paulskirche, the cradle of German democracy, are also to be found here.
Our tour we start in the Römerberg or "Roman Mountain", a historic heart of Frankfurt. We see the nice Old Nikolai Church and the Main Guardhouse. We continue to historic square called Paulsplatz where we can see St Paul's Church and the German Stock Exchange. The Church of Our Lady we cannot pass through. We stop in front of the Old St Nicholas Church, the historical Museum and then visit the Goethe House with Goethe museum. The great Old Opera House is our following program to see. Many well-known museums and galleries we pass during our tour. The next point in our visit is the Hauptwache, a nice baroque building. We cannot forget to see the Palais Thurn und Taxis and our last stop will be an observation platform of the Main Tower from where we can see all the nice parts of Frankfurt including Jewish Quarter.

Frankfurt Excursions & Tours: Escape the hustle and bustle of Frankfurt for the scenic beauty of the Rhine Valley with this spellbinding tour of this Unesco World Heritage Site. There are two options to choose from: a full day tour with lunch and an afternoon tour with dinner. Enjoy a steamer cruise through this beautiful scenery and admire medieval castles, small villages and vineyards.
The particular stretch of the Rhine Valley (Rheingau in German) that has been designated a World Heritage Site covers just 65km but manages to pack in terrace after terrace of vineyards, some 60 villages and 40 hilltop castles and fortresses, most of which are in ruins, thus adding to their picture-postcard appeal as they stand sentry over the river. Locals like to boast that nowhere else in the world has more medieval castles than the Rheingau.
With the full-day tour, pause at the imposing Niederwald Monument, which was built in the 19th century to commemorate the unification of Germany. True to its age, it is very martial in appearance but the views from it are sensational, commanding as it does a strategic bend on the river. See ruins, belfries, vineyards, the landmark Mouse Tower and the town of Rüdesheim. In summer months, there’s the option of a cable car ride.
Have a delicious lunch in a beautiful riverside restaurant, followed by a steamer cruise to picturesque St Goarshausen with the famous Lorelei Rock. The tours end with a small wine tasting in a tavern by the riverbanks.
On the half day tour enjoy a steamer cruise from Kaub to Assmannshausen, followed by the dinner and wine tasting.
When steamers are not operating, for example in adverse weather conditions or due to high water, a castle will be visited instead.
