Ausflüge in Puno - Puno to Cuzco tour
Ausflüge in Puno: The ride to Cuzco is set to have a few interesting stops on route. Visit the town of Pucara and the Litico Pucara Museum. Pucara was the first urban settlemnet on the altiplano, a civilization that populated the area between 100 and 300 b. C. After a brief break at La Raya, the highest pass on our way to Cuzco (at 4313 masl), the bus stops at Sicuani where lunch is enjoyed.
We then head on to Raqchi an Inca site built in honor of Wiracocha, a powerful Andean God. The rectangular construction boasted thatched rooftops 20 meters above the ground, which are thought to be the highest in the New World. Moments later we visit the Church of Andahuaylillas, known as the "Sixtine Chapel of the Americas" due to the high qualitiy art pieces it shelters. The church was built during the XVI century atop Wari remains and today the boasts a beautifully restored Colonial organ. A short 40 kilometers drive gets us to Cuzco at the end of today's journey.

Uros are an ancestral society that inhabits a series of artificial islands built with totora, a reef that grows in the lake. The islands are built by weaving totoras in the places where they are thicker and form a natural layer. They build their totora houses over it and cook in the open air to prevent possible fires. After a two-hour tour, you will sail back to Puno.

Ausflüge in Puno - Uros and Taquile Island - Titicaca Lake
Ausflüge in Puno: You will be picked up from the port of Puno and head to the floating islands of Uros. The Uros are an ancient culture that inhabits a series of artificial islands built on the basis of reeds growing in the lake itself. These are constructed by weaving reed in the areas where it grows thicker and thus forming a natural layer. On it they build their houses and cook outdoors in order to prevent fires. After a tour of an hour and a half, you will continue your tour to the island of Taquile. This is, unlike the other islands in the lake speaking Aymara, Quechua speaking. It was part of the Inca empire and you can still see remnants of that culture in its constructions. However, the Spaniards also arrived here, and stripped them of their outfits forcing them to wear traditional dresses of peasants. You will receive a brief explanation about the island and will be able to walk along it until lunchtime. After lunch you will go down the ''550 steps'' to return to the main port and the city of Puno. ''
